Iran Aims to Cement Military Gains Through Diplomatic Efforts, Pezeshkian Says

In a significant development, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian outlined Tehran’s strategy to transform its military accomplishments into diplomatic victories. Speaking on Monday during a meeting with senior officers of Iran’s Law Enforcement Force (FARAJA), Pezeshkian described the country’s approach as both rational and logical.

He identified three potential paths for Iran following the conflict: engaging in negotiations from a position of strength, remaining in a prolonged state of neither war nor peace, or continuing confrontation. Pezeshkian stressed that the preferred course, aligned with national interests, is to finalize the success achieved by the Armed Forces on the battlefield through diplomatic means, ensuring the rights of the Iranian people are upheld with dignity and authority.

Notably, the president emphasized that Tehran remains open to diplomacy despite harboring distrust towards its adversaries. He stated that the Islamic Republic considers negotiations feasible when conducted from a stance of dignity, wisdom, and pragmatism.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian assured that Iran would honor any agreements reached, provided they align with the guidance of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and serve the interests of the Iranian populace.

Drawing on the teachings of Imam Ali from Nahj al-Balaghah, Pezeshkian highlighted that Iran should not reject peace if it is offered by an adversary. However, he cautioned against placing trust in the enemy even after peace is established, underscoring a balanced approach to diplomacy and security.
