Dylan Carter, known for his appearance on season 24 of The Voice, died from blunt force trauma sustained in a car accident in South Carolina. Authorities have classified the incident as accidental.

The 24-year-old was driving alone late at night in Colleton County when his vehicle veered off the road. Law enforcement reported that his car collided with a pole and a fence before overturning. Despite wearing a seatbelt, Carter succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m., with Carter behind the wheel of a 2026 Tesla sedan. The Colleton County coroner confirmed the accidental nature of his death following a thorough examination. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Carter gained recognition during his audition on The Voice, where he performed Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You” as a tribute to his late mother. His rendition impressed all four judges—Gwen Stefani, John Legend, Reba McEntire, and Niall Horan—who turned their chairs for him. He ultimately joined Reba McEntire’s team but was eliminated in the Battle Rounds.

In a heartfelt statement, Carter’s family expressed their devastation over his passing. They remembered him as a cherished community member who frequently performed at local events. His kindness and charm earned him great respect, and his loss will be profoundly felt.

The family emphasized that beyond his public persona, Carter was a beloved friend and family member whose presence meant the world to them.
