Gold Prices Surge to New Highs in Pakistan Amid Global Market Rally

Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a significant rise on Saturday, with 24-karat gold per tola climbing by Rs4,500 to approximately Rs506,000 in the local bullion market. The price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs3,858, reaching around Rs433,820.

Market data from Sarmaaya indicated that 24-karat gold was valued at about Rs43,382 per gram, while 22-karat gold stood at Rs463,833 per tola and Rs39,766.83 per gram. Meanwhile, 21-karat gold was priced at Rs442,750 per tola and Rs37,959.25 per gram, with 18-karat gold at Rs379,500 per tola.

On an ounce basis, 24-karat gold was recorded at Rs1,229,580, reflecting the broader upward trend seen in international markets. Traders noted that the surge in domestic gold prices mirrored gains in global markets, where investors have increasingly turned to safe-haven assets amid persistent economic and geopolitical uncertainties.

In a significant development, fluctuations in the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar have also played a role in driving volatility in local gold rates. Bullion dealers anticipate that prices will continue to be influenced by international market trends and currency movements in the near future.
