Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a nearly two-hour meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in Jeddah. The discussion focused extensively on the evolving regional situation, reflecting the close ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed heartfelt condolences for the recent loss of lives, emphasizing that the people of Pakistan stand firmly alongside their Saudi counterparts. He also commended Saudi Arabia for its exemplary patience and restraint amid challenging circumstances.
In a significant development, PM Shehbaz Sharif updated the Crown Prince on Pakistan’s recent peace initiatives, which contributed to the U.S.-Iran ceasefire and the historic round of talks between the United States and Iran held in Islamabad. The Crown Prince acknowledged the positive role played by the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in advancing the peace process.
The leaders also exchanged views on bilateral relations, with the Prime Minister expressing gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support toward Pakistan’s economic stability. He underscored the unique and strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly highlighting their collaboration under the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation on issues of mutual interest, reinforcing the strong bond and shared goals between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
