Authorities in Karachi have successfully dismantled a criminal group involved in abducting children and coercing them into stealing mobile phones after intoxicating them. The case emerged when an 11-year-old boy named Ayan, residing in Korangi 100 Quarters, was reported missing several days prior.
The disappearance was officially recorded at Saudabad Police Station, prompting the formation of a special police unit under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Fida Hussain Jaffari. Acting on intelligence, the team conducted an operation that led to Ayan’s recovery and the arrest of two suspects, Sahil and Fatima.
During interrogation, Ayan revealed that he had been kidnapped and taken to a secret location where he endured physical abuse. He further disclosed that he was forced to consume drugs and compelled to engage in criminal acts, including the theft of mobile phones.
Officials noted that complaints about similar child abduction cases and forced criminal activities had been received for some time. The police are continuing their investigation to identify and apprehend additional members of the gang and any accomplices involved in these crimes.
