A man was taken into custody in Lahore after reportedly setting his wife and three young daughters on fire following a domestic argument related to a gas outage. The incident took place in the Shahdara area, where the suspect became furious when his wife was unable to prepare food on time due to the interruption of natural gas supply.

In a significant development, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered officials to provide immediate medical assistance to the victims. Meanwhile, Hina Parvez Butt, Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, visited the hospital to meet the family and pledged comprehensive support, including medical, legal, and psychological aid. She also instructed doctors to deliver the highest standard of care.
