Explosions Near Pakistan Embassy in Tehran Amid Ongoing Conflict

Explosions were reported near the Embassy of Pakistan and the ambassador’s residence in Tehran as the Iranian capital experienced its 28th consecutive day of aerial bombardment. All Pakistani diplomatic staff were confirmed safe, though visibly shaken by the blasts.

The incident took place around 8 p.m. on Thursday in the Pasdaran district, close to both the embassy and the ambassador’s residence. It is believed that an Iranian military base located opposite the embassy may have been the intended target of the explosions.

Despite the loud blasts, the embassy building and staff residences remained unharmed. Diplomatic personnel in the area reported being rattled by the incident but confirmed that no windows were broken. They continue to perform their duties amid the tense and unstable environment.

Meanwhile, Islamabad, along with Turkey and Egypt, is actively engaged in shuttle diplomacy efforts to negotiate a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. The situation remains under close observation as no casualties or structural damage have been reported so far.

The conflict escalated on February 28 when US and Israeli strikes on Iran triggered a war, resulting in hundreds of deaths and expanding into neighboring Middle Eastern countries. This ongoing conflict has also impacted the global economy through rising energy prices.

Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Ali Jafarian reported that at least 1,937 people, including 240 women and 212 children, have lost their lives. In retaliation, Iran’s strikes on Israel have resulted in over a dozen fatalities.
