In Istanbul, a significant crackdown on drug-related activities has led to the detention of several prominent individuals from the entertainment, sports, and business sectors, including the acclaimed actress Hande Ercel. The Istanbul Narcotics Crime Division issued detention orders for 16 people as part of this operation.

Among those targeted are former football club presidents Fikret Orman and Burak Elmas. The investigation also involves notable business figures Hakan Sabancı and Kerim Sabancı, model Didem Soydan, and television presenter Guzide Duran.

Authorities conducted simultaneous raids across 16 locations in Istanbul, resulting in the arrest of 14 individuals. Warrants remain active for the remaining two suspects. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that the operation is designed to safeguard social values and uphold the family structure.

Preliminary evidence suggests that those detained are suspected of either possessing drugs or facilitating their use. Officials have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and being handled with utmost seriousness, with further developments anticipated in the near future.
