Pakistan Denies Indian Claims Linking It to Terror Arrests in India

Pakistan has firmly denied accusations made by India’s Home Minister, Amit Shah, who linked Islamabad to the recent arrests of alleged terror operatives within India. The Pakistani Foreign Office described these claims as part of a deliberate campaign designed to distract from New Delhi’s own internal security issues.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi condemned the allegations, stating that India is exploiting anti-Pakistan rhetoric for political advantage. He emphasized that Pakistan categorically rejects any association with the arrests and views the accusations as unfounded propaganda.

In a significant development, Amit Shah announced that Indian security forces apprehended more than 200 individuals suspected of being connected to Pakistan during a crackdown across 14 states on August 12, just days before India’s Independence Day. Shah identified the detainees as members of the Shahzad Bhatti Network and claimed their arrests prevented planned subversive attacks.

Meanwhile, Andrabi asserted that such narratives are a continuation of India’s malicious efforts to shift focus from its domestic challenges. He highlighted that India is a repressive state internally, suppressing minorities and dissent, while externally engaging in terror activities and supporting militants.

He further stressed that these baseless Indian claims will not divert global attention from India’s state-sponsored terrorism, targeted killings, and interference in other countries. Pakistan has repeatedly presented evidence of India’s involvement in destabilizing actions within its borders.

Notably, Andrabi cited the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, an Indian naval officer convicted in Pakistan for espionage and terrorism, as undeniable proof of India’s direct role in subversion. He urged the international community to reject India’s unfounded allegations and hold it accountable for promoting terrorism in the region.
