President Asif Ali Zardari will commence a four-day official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic from July 6 to 9, leading a high-level delegation. This visit comes at the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and represents the first time in 21 years that a Pakistani president has traveled to Kyrgyzstan, signifying a historic moment in bilateral relations.
In a significant development, this trip follows the successful visit of President Zhaparov to Pakistan in December 2025, highlighting the ongoing strengthening of ties and sustained high-level engagement between the two nations. During his stay, President Zardari is scheduled to hold both one-on-one and delegation-level discussions with President Zhaparov. These talks will encompass a comprehensive review of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations and include exchanges on regional and international issues of shared concern.
The discussions are expected to emphasize expanding cooperation in various sectors such as trade and investment, energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, the halal industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, the digital economy, education, tourism, and people-to-people contacts. Additionally, President Zardari will receive the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament in a courtesy meeting during his visit.
Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic maintain warm and fraternal relations, rooted in common history, faith, culture, and mutual aspirations for peace, connectivity, and prosperity across Central and South Asia. This visit underscores the commitment of both countries to deepen their partnership and explore new avenues for collaboration.
