Pakistan has specified that visa-free entry for the Islamabad Talks 2026 will be granted solely to delegates and journalists from Iran and the United States. This clarification was issued by the Foreign Office on Friday, following earlier comments that implied more extensive facilitation.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated on X that this arrangement is restricted to nationals of the two countries involved in the talks and will be valid only for the event’s duration. He emphasized that the visa exemption does not extend to participants from any other nations.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had announced that attendees would benefit from visa-on-arrival privileges. He also mentioned that airlines were instructed to permit boarding without prior visas for travelers linked to the event. Dar expressed a warm welcome to delegates and journalists, highlighting Pakistan’s efforts to ensure smooth entry and encourage international participation.
The Islamabad Talks 2026 are anticipated to convene US and Iranian delegations to discuss measures aimed at ending the ongoing US-Israeli conflict with Iran, following a ceasefire brokered by Pakistan. While the Foreign Office has not disclosed further details regarding the talks’ agenda, security measures in Islamabad have been intensified in preparation for the arrival of participants.
