In Chaghi district, the transit facility to Iran has been officially suspended following directives from the Balochistan government. The Deputy Commissioner of Chaghi announced that the previous transit arrangement ended under the order issued on April 1. From now on, travelers must hold a valid passport and visa to cross into Iran.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that border crossings will only be allowed after all legal requirements are fulfilled. Citizens have been urged to comply strictly with the new government regulations concerning travel to Iran.
This decision comes amid escalating regional tensions. Since the conflict intensified on February 28, significant casualties have been reported among Iranian leadership due to ongoing hostilities. In response, Pakistan has launched high-level mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, engaging in extensive consultations with key Islamic countries such as Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
Notably, the Foreign Ministers of these three nations recently visited Pakistan for detailed discussions. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar traveled to China to secure support from Chinese leadership for the peace initiative. This diplomatic outreach aims to foster a broad international consensus to reduce tensions and restore stability in the region.
