NADRA Clarifies Process for First CNIC Application via Pakid App

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an official clarification regarding the procedure for obtaining a Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) through the Pakid mobile application. This move aims to streamline the application process for first-time CNIC applicants by leveraging digital technology. The Pakid app serves as a platform to facilitate easier access to essential government services, including identity documentation.

In a significant development towards digital governance, NADRA’s clarification addresses common queries and outlines the necessary steps applicants must follow when using the Pakid app. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize public service delivery and reduce the need for physical visits to registration centers. By enabling online applications, NADRA hopes to improve efficiency and accessibility for citizens, particularly those in remote or underserved areas.

Meanwhile, the adoption of digital tools like the Pakid app reflects Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to integrating technology within its administrative framework. The clarification is expected to boost public confidence in the digital application process and encourage wider usage of the app. Ultimately, this development contributes to the government’s vision of a more connected and digitally empowered society.
