Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, announced significant progress in the ongoing military campaign dubbed Operation Ghazab lil-Haq. The operation has so far resulted in the deaths of 331 Afghan Taliban fighters, with more than 500 others reported injured. This offensive marks a robust response by Pakistani security forces to recent escalations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

In addition to the heavy casualties inflicted on Taliban militants, the operation has successfully targeted and destroyed 104 Taliban check posts. Pakistani forces have also seized control of 22 strategic posts, further consolidating their hold on key border areas. Tarar highlighted that approximately 163 tanks and various armed vehicles belonging to the Afghan Taliban have been neutralized during the operation, significantly degrading their mobility and firepower.

Moreover, the Pakistani military has conducted precise airstrikes on 37 locations across Afghanistan, further disrupting Taliban infrastructure and command centers. These air operations complement ground offensives, showcasing the coordinated efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces to counter cross-border threats effectively.

Earlier statements from Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), revealed that the clashes have come at a cost to Pakistan’s military as well. Twelve soldiers have been martyred while 27 others sustained injuries during the intense confrontations. The sacrifices of these soldiers underscore the gravity of the conflict and the high stakes involved in securing Pakistan’s borders.

The escalation in hostilities followed a series of unprovoked attacks by the Afghan Taliban on multiple Pakistani border locations on the night of February 27. These aggressive moves heightened tensions between the neighboring countries, prompting Pakistan to launch Operation Ghazab lil-Haq as a decisive countermeasure. Minister Tarar emphasized that Pakistan’s response was swift and resolute, aimed at protecting national sovereignty and deterring future incursions.

Speaking about the operation’s impact, Tarar noted that the Afghan Taliban have been pushed onto the defensive, struggling to maintain their foothold amid Pakistan’s determined military campaign. He also pointed out that the Taliban have resorted to spreading misinformation on social media in an attempt to undermine the credibility of Pakistan’s armed forces. However, the minister reaffirmed that any hostile actions against Pakistan would be met with unwavering strength and professionalism.

Furthermore, the minister expressed the nation’s full support for the armed forces, praising their dedication and effectiveness in safeguarding the country. He shared that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commended the timely and courageous efforts of the military leadership, particularly under the guidance of Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Prime Minister’s endorsement highlights the government’s commitment to maintaining national security and territorial integrity.

Reiterating Pakistan’s firm stance, Tarar condemned the use of Afghan soil as a base for launching attacks against Pakistan. He stressed that such actions are unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The minister warned that terrorists operating from Afghanistan who target Pakistan will face a decisive and forceful response, underscoring the country’s resolve to eliminate threats to its peace and stability.
