Islamabad witnessed a significant military update on Friday as the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, provided detailed insights into the recent Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq. This large-scale offensive targeted militant groups operating from Afghan territory, resulting in the death of at least 274 militants and injuring more than 400 others. The operation, which unfolded over several days, also saw the loss of 12 brave Pakistani soldiers, with 27 others wounded and one soldier reported missing in action.

Speaking at a press briefing, DG ISPR Chaudhry emphasized that the Pakistan Armed Forces executed a decisive and measured response to the terrorist attacks that had been launched from across the border. He highlighted that the retaliation was not indiscriminate but carefully calibrated to neutralize threats while minimizing collateral damage. The military’s efforts led to the complete destruction of over 73 posts belonging to the Afghan Taliban regime, with an additional 18 posts being captured by Pakistani troops during the course of the operation.

Adding further to the scale of the offensive, the DG ISPR revealed that Pakistani forces managed to destroy or seize 115 enemy tanks and armored vehicles. This substantial blow to militant capabilities was achieved despite the adversaries employing advanced weaponry, including the use of quadcopters for reconnaissance and attacks. Pakistani troops responded effectively to these threats, countering each assault with precision and resilience.

The operation involved 22 targeted aerial strikes conducted in key Afghan provinces such as Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Khost, and Paktika. These air raids focused on critical militant infrastructure, including brigade headquarters, battalion command centers, sector headquarters, and weapons depots. Chaudhry was keen to point out that these strikes were highly accurate, with no civilian casualties reported, underscoring the professionalism and discipline of the Pakistan Air Force and ground forces involved.

During the intense clashes, Afghan Taliban fighters reportedly abandoned their positions, fleeing the battlefield and leaving behind numerous bodies and military equipment. The DG ISPR praised the valor and sacrifice of Pakistani soldiers who stood firm in the face of these attacks, reiterating the nation’s unwavering support for its armed forces. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its borders and warned that terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil would not find safe havens.

Furthermore, Chaudhry issued a stern message to the Afghan Taliban regime, urging them to make a clear choice between maintaining peaceful relations with Pakistan or continuing to harbor terrorist organizations such as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and the Islamic State. He cautioned that any future terrorist attacks originating from Afghanistan would be met with a robust and uncompromising response, holding not only the perpetrators but also their facilitators and supporters accountable.
