Pakistan Condemns Gaza Violence and Calls for Urgent Ceasefire at OIC Summit

In a powerful statement delivered at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting held in Riyadh, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar vehemently condemned the ongoing violence and genocide in Gaza. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Dar underscored that the repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement are unacceptable and must be brought to an immediate halt. His remarks reflected Pakistan’s firm stance against the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian territories.

During the high-level gathering of representatives from Arab and Islamic nations, Dar conveyed the collective concern shared by these countries over the persistent breaches of the Gaza truce. He emphasized that the widespread condemnation from the Muslim world signals a unified demand for respect of international laws and the protection of innocent civilians caught in the conflict. The Deputy Prime Minister described the current conditions in Gaza as “unbearable,” pointing to the devastating impact of Israel’s aggressive policies and territorial expansions, which he categorically rejected.

Expanding on Pakistan’s position, Dar stressed the critical role the OIC must play in fostering peace, development, and solidarity among Muslim-majority countries. He highlighted that the ongoing Israeli military actions and the establishment of illegal settlements in Palestinian lands pose a serious threat not only to regional stability but also to the broader Muslim Ummah. This, he noted, demands urgent and coordinated diplomatic efforts to halt further escalation and to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister called for immediate and concrete measures to end hostilities in Gaza and stressed the importance of initiating reconstruction projects to rebuild the war-torn region. Pakistan, he assured, remains actively engaged with allied nations to support initiatives aimed at securing a durable and sustainable ceasefire. This collaborative approach, Dar noted, is essential for restoring peace and providing relief to those affected by the conflict.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s long-standing and principled support for the Palestinian cause, Ishaq Dar reiterated the country’s commitment to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state. He recalled that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has consistently voiced this position at various international platforms, advocating for justice and self-determination for Palestinians. The Deputy Prime Minister’s address at the OIC meeting thus reinforced Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Palestine amid ongoing turmoil.
