In a decisive military response to recent unprovoked attacks, Pakistan has launched a large-scale operation named Ghazab lil-Haq against the Afghan Taliban forces. The Pakistan Army swiftly retaliated to cross-border aggression, successfully eliminating 133 Taliban militants and injuring over 200. This operation has been described as a comprehensive counter-offensive aimed at safeguarding Pakistan’s territorial integrity and ensuring the security of its citizens living near the volatile border regions.

During the operation, the armed forces targeted and completely destroyed 27 Taliban posts, while capturing nine others. The counter-attack inflicted significant damage on the enemy’s military assets, including the destruction of more than 36 tanks, artillery guns, and armored personnel carriers. The Afghan Taliban forces were forced to retreat hastily, abandoning numerous posts and hideouts in the process. The Pakistan Air Force also played a crucial role by conducting precision airstrikes that demolished key Taliban battalion and sector headquarters, as well as ammunition depots. In a symbolic gesture of reclaiming control, Pakistani forces hoisted the national flag at seven captured Afghan posts.

Elaborating on the operation, the Prime Minister’s spokesperson on foreign media highlighted that Pakistan had authorized multiple rounds of counter-strikes in response to the Taliban’s aggression. He confirmed that 72 militants were killed and more than 120 injured during these operations. The spokesperson also emphasized the destruction of a large ammunition depot, a battalion headquarters, and a sector headquarters belonging to the Afghan Taliban. These strategic blows have significantly weakened the militant group’s operational capabilities along the border.

Security sources revealed that the Afghan Taliban attempted to launch attacks using quadcopters, but Pakistani forces successfully intercepted and shot down all unmanned aerial vehicles. The military has been conducting selective strikes targeting Taliban positions to minimize collateral damage while maximizing operational effectiveness. Despite suffering heavy losses, the Taliban have reportedly shifted their focus towards attacking civilian populations, escalating tensions in the border areas.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar reiterated the government’s firm stance, affirming that every act of aggression would be met with a strong and effective response. He criticized the Afghan Taliban regime for resorting to propaganda and misinformation to mask their defeat on the ground. Tarar condemned the spread of false narratives, which he described as attempts to save face after suffering significant setbacks at the hands of Pakistan’s security forces.

Meanwhile, political leaders across Pakistan have voiced their support for the armed forces’ actions. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the military’s swift and decisive response, saluting the troops for protecting the nation’s sovereignty. Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon lamented Afghanistan’s ingratitude despite Pakistan hosting millions of Afghan refugees over the decades and providing assistance during difficult times. He highlighted the ongoing threat posed by militants who have carried out attacks on innocent civilians within Pakistan.

Chairman of MQM Pakistan, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, accused the Afghan Taliban of acting as proxies for India, condemning their attacks on Pakistan’s border areas. Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Daniyal Chaudhary underscored the presence of banned militant outfits operating from Afghanistan, reiterating Pakistan’s right to defend itself and its commitment to eradicating terrorism from the region.

On the diplomatic front, global powers have called for restraint amid escalating tensions. Russia, the only country to formally recognize the Taliban government, urged an end to hostilities and expressed willingness to mediate peace talks if both parties agree. Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister engaged in discussions with Pakistan’s counterpart to explore ways to reduce tensions, although details of any ceasefire arrangements remain undisclosed. The international community remains watchful as Pakistan continues to maintain high security alert, particularly in urban centers vulnerable to militant attacks.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the armed forces’ readiness and capability to counter any threats to Pakistan’s peace and security. He emphasized that the nation and its military stand united in protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all forms of aggression. The ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq reflects Pakistan’s resolve to respond immediately and effectively to any hostile actions along its borders, ensuring stability and security for its people.
