The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has rolled out two advanced features in the latest update (version 5.5.7) of its Pak ID mobile application, aiming to simplify and expedite services for users worldwide.
Notably, the app now supports passport capture and upload, enabling users to either take a photo of their passport or upload an existing image. This feature automatically extracts critical details such as the applicant’s name, passport number, and expiry date, reducing manual data entry errors and saving time.
In a significant development, the update also introduces an enhanced biometric verification system. This new section facilitates seamless facial recognition across all visa application categories, improving security and verification speed.
Moreover, the app’s global accessibility has been expanded, allowing citizens from 193 countries to apply for any visa category more conveniently than before. Users can access these features by updating the Pak ID app or downloading it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, promising a faster, smarter, and more efficient user experience.
Meanwhile, NADRA has also released a comprehensive list of over 3,000 e-Sahulat franchises nationwide, including details about their owners. These franchises provide a wide range of services such as issuing and renewing computerized national identity cards (CNICs), obtaining B-forms for children under 10 years, and canceling CNICs of deceased individuals.
Officials emphasized that these franchises will greatly benefit residents in remote areas by offering essential NADRA services locally, eliminating the need to travel to central offices.
