Fans eager to know the release time of Drake’s latest project, Iceman, finally received confirmation as the Canadian rapper transformed Toronto’s skyline with a dazzling display on Thursday night. The iconic CN Tower was lit up in icy blue during a livestream event for Iceman Episode 4, marking the midnight launch of the album alongside two surprise companion projects, Maid of Honour and Habibti.
During the livestream, Drake announced that Iceman would drop at midnight, ending hours of speculation among fans awaiting the new music. The large-scale spectacle featured the CN Tower bathed in blue light from top to bottom, created using 75 projectors. Thousands gathered downtown to witness the event in person, while countless others watched online. The production utilized over 2.5 million lumens of light and synchronized more than 138 million pixels through media servers connected by air fibre.
The event began with an “Iceman” truck traveling along the Don Valley Parkway before arriving at the tower, setting the scene for the reveal. Attendees described the atmosphere as electric, with many saying moments like these captured the essence of Toronto.
Drake’s team described Iceman as a “visual album” that offers a theatrical portrayal of the rapper’s reflections and experiences over the past two years. The livestream included appearances by Drake’s son Adonis and featured scenes from prominent Toronto landmarks. Footage showed Drake inside City Hall, including the council chamber and mayor’s office, and referenced a recent large explosion at Downsview Park that had drawn public attention.
The event concluded with a 10-minute fireworks display at Harbourfront Centre, wrapping up Drake’s latest promotional campaign. Earlier this year, a giant ice sculpture connected to the album rollout had also attracted crowds in downtown Toronto, adding to the buildup for this highly anticipated release.
