Britney Spears has voluntarily admitted herself to a treatment center on April 12, following her recent arrest for driving under the influence. This move comes amid increasing concerns about the singer’s health and wellbeing.
The 44-year-old pop star was taken into custody on March 4 in Ventura, California, on suspicion of DUI involving drugs and alcohol. She was released the following day. Her representative described the incident as “completely inexcusable” and emphasized that Spears would take appropriate steps to comply with legal requirements while focusing on obtaining necessary support.
Her team has also highlighted that her family and close circle are actively involved in creating a support plan to assist her during this challenging time. Spears shares custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, who are expected to be part of her recovery process.
Concerns about Spears’ wellbeing have resurfaced since the termination of her conservatorship in 2021. Federline had previously voiced his apprehensions in his memoir, stating it was “time to sound the alarm” regarding her behavior. In response, Spears’ representative reaffirmed that her children’s welfare remains her highest priority.
Having openly discussed her mental health struggles and the need for healing after years under conservatorship, Spears’ decision to enter treatment now represents a significant step toward regaining stability and receiving professional support.
