The Government of Pakistan has implemented a significant revision in fuel prices, increasing the rates of petrol and diesel starting May 1, 2026. This adjustment follows recommendations from the Petroleum Division and has been formalized through an official notification issued by the Ministry of Energy.
In a notable development, the price of petrol has been raised by approximately Rs7 per litre, moving from Rs393.35 to Rs399.86. This increase reflects ongoing adjustments in the energy sector aimed at addressing economic and market conditions.
Meanwhile, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) prices have also surged considerably, with an increment of Rs19.39 per litre. The diesel price has escalated from Rs380.19 to Rs399.58 per litre, marking a substantial rise that will impact transportation and industrial sectors nationwide.
The revised fuel prices will be applicable throughout Pakistan starting May 1, 2026. This move is expected to influence various economic activities and consumer costs, as fuel prices are a critical component of the country’s overall inflation and cost structure.
