Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a significant telephonic conversation with King Abdullah II of Jordan on Friday, exchanging heartfelt Eidul Fitr greetings. This cordial exchange highlighted the warm and longstanding ties between Pakistan and Jordan, reflecting the deep-rooted brotherhood shared by the two nations. The Prime Minister extended his best wishes not only to the Jordanian Royal Family but also to the entire people of the Kingdom, emphasizing the spirit of unity and goodwill that Eid represents.

In response, King Abdullah II warmly reciprocated the Eid felicitations, underscoring the mutual respect and friendship that define the relationship between the two countries. Both leaders took the opportunity to express their collective hope for peace and harmony within the Muslim Ummah, acknowledging the importance of solidarity during these challenging times. Their dialogue reflected a shared commitment to fostering stability and cooperation across the region.

The conversation then turned to the pressing and evolving situation in the Middle East, where tensions have escalated recently. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif voiced his profound concern over the ongoing hostilities affecting the region, particularly condemning the recent attacks targeting Jordan amid this volatile environment. His strong denunciation of these acts of aggression was coupled with a clear message of support and solidarity with the Jordanian people, who are facing difficult circumstances due to the regional unrest.

Shehbaz Sharif stressed the urgent need for restraint from all parties involved, advocating for de-escalation and the pursuit of diplomatic channels to resolve conflicts peacefully. He highlighted that dialogue and negotiation remain the most viable paths to achieving lasting stability in the Middle East, a region that holds strategic importance for both Pakistan and Jordan. This stance aligns with Pakistan’s broader foreign policy approach, which consistently promotes peace and conflict resolution through peaceful means.

Reflecting on recent diplomatic engagements, the Prime Minister fondly recalled King Abdullah’s visit to Pakistan in November of the previous year. This visit had reinforced the strong bilateral ties and opened new avenues for cooperation. During their conversation, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to deepening its relationship with Jordan, particularly in key sectors such as trade, investment, and defense. Both leaders agreed that enhancing collaboration in these areas would serve the mutual interests of their countries and contribute to regional stability.

Concluding their discussion, the two leaders pledged to maintain close communication on both bilateral and regional issues. This ongoing dialogue is expected to play a crucial role in addressing shared challenges and exploring opportunities for partnership. The call between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and King Abdullah II not only reaffirmed the strong bonds between Pakistan and Jordan but also underscored their joint resolve to work together for peace and prosperity in the broader Muslim world.
