Pakistan Railways has introduced updated operating hours for its reservation offices throughout the holy month of Ramazan, aiming to accommodate the increased travel demands and the unique schedule of this period. Starting from today, all reservation counters will be accessible to the public from early morning at 8:00 am until midnight, offering passengers extended opportunities to book their train tickets conveniently.
This adjustment in timings reflects the railway authorities’ commitment to easing the ticketing process during Ramazan, when many people travel to visit family or attend religious gatherings. The extended hours are designed to provide flexibility for travelers who may have varying schedules due to fasting and other religious observances.
To respect the sanctity of the month and accommodate the needs of both passengers and staff, the reservation offices will observe a daily 45-minute break coinciding with the time of Iftar, allowing employees to break their fast and pray. Additionally, on Fridays, a longer pause will be observed from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm to facilitate the congregation for Friday prayers, which hold special significance in the Islamic week.
Railway officials have urged passengers to take note of these revised hours and plan their travel arrangements accordingly to avoid any last-minute difficulties. The extended service hours are expected to reduce crowding and improve the overall ticketing experience during this busy season.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Railways frequently adjusts its services during Ramazan to align with the cultural and religious practices of the country, ensuring that public transportation remains accessible and efficient. This latest change is part of a broader effort to enhance passenger convenience and operational efficiency during peak travel times.
