Islamabad Schools to Observe Six-Day Spring Break Starting March 24

The authorities in Islamabad have declared a six-day spring vacation for all schools and educational establishments operating within the federal capital. This break will be observed by institutions managed under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), covering both urban and rural areas of Islamabad. The holiday period is scheduled to begin on March 24 and will continue until March 27, providing students and staff a brief respite during the academic calendar.

The official notification issued by the Academics Wing of the Federal Directorate of Education clearly states that the spring break will be enforced across all educational institutions functioning under the FDE’s jurisdiction. This decision aims to offer a well-deserved pause for students and teachers alike, allowing them to recharge before the final stretch of the academic year. It is important to note that the break spans four days, from Sunday, March 24, through Wednesday, March 27.

Following the conclusion of the spring vacation, schools and colleges are set to reopen on Monday, March 30. On this day, attendance will be compulsory for all teaching staff members. The directive emphasizes the importance of teachers being present to facilitate the compilation and announcement of the in-house annual examination results, a critical administrative task that ensures timely communication of student performance.

In addition to the holiday schedule, the FDE has instructed that the admission process for the upcoming academic sessions must proceed without any interruption during the spring break. This ensures that prospective students and their families can continue to complete enrollment formalities smoothly, maintaining the academic calendar’s momentum despite the temporary closure of classes.

The announcement reflects the FDE’s commitment to balancing academic responsibilities with necessary breaks, recognizing the importance of both rest and administrative efficiency. By granting this spring break, the authorities aim to support the well-being of students and staff while simultaneously ensuring that essential academic processes, such as admissions and result preparations, continue seamlessly.
