Jamaat-i-Islami Organizes Nationwide Protests Against US-Israeli Strikes on Iran

Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Pakistan has announced plans to hold widespread protests across the country on Friday in response to the recent military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran. These demonstrations aim to condemn the aggressive actions and to express unwavering support for the Iranian nation during this turbulent period. The call for protests reflects JI’s strong stance against what it describes as unjust foreign interventions in Muslim countries.

The decision to mobilize supporters was revealed following a meeting between JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad. During this high-level discussion, Rehman conveyed the party’s intention to organize these protests as a gesture of solidarity with Iran. Subsequently, at a press conference, Rehman vehemently criticized the military operations, branding the United States, Israel, and India as an “evil trinity” conspiring against the interests of the Muslim world. This rhetoric underscores JI’s broader geopolitical concerns and its perception of these nations as adversaries to Islamic unity and sovereignty.

In addition to condemning the strikes, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman took aim at the recently formed Board of Peace, an initiative launched by former US President Donald Trump. He dismissed this platform as a mere facade, designed to mislead the international community rather than promote genuine peace. Rehman urged the Pakistani government to reconsider its membership in this coalition, calling for an immediate withdrawal to distance Pakistan from what he described as a deceptive and harmful alliance. This appeal highlights ongoing debates within Pakistan about its foreign policy alignments and the need to safeguard national interests.

During his meeting with Ambassador Moghadam, Rehman also expressed deep condolences over the loss of key Iranian figures, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly among those killed in the recent attacks. He prayed for the souls of the deceased and reassured the ambassador that Jamaat-i-Islami and the Pakistani people stand firmly with Iran in these challenging times. The Iranian envoy responded with gratitude, acknowledging JI’s consistent efforts to promote unity among Muslim nations and appreciating the solidarity shown by the Pakistani party.

Turning his attention to Pakistan’s internal political landscape, Rehman called upon both the ruling coalition and opposition parties to present a united front by issuing a clear and unequivocal condemnation of the US-Israeli strikes. He criticized the Trump administration for what he described as blatant violations of international law and went further to demand that the former president be held accountable as a war criminal. This strong language reflects JI’s broader critique of Western foreign policies and its call for justice on the international stage.

On domestic issues, the JI leader addressed the recent violent incidents outside the US Consulate in Karachi, where protesters were reportedly fired upon. He demanded a transparent and impartial investigation into the matter to ensure accountability and justice. Moreover, Rehman appealed to all participants in the upcoming protests to maintain peace and discipline, emphasizing the importance of non-violent demonstrations throughout every district of Pakistan on Friday.

Lastly, Rehman expressed concern over the worsening diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He urged both governments to engage in constructive dialogue aimed at resolving their differences peacefully. He stressed the necessity of preventing Afghan territory from being used as a base for militant activities targeting Pakistan. This call for cooperation highlights the critical need for regional stability and the prevention of cross-border terrorism, which remains a pressing issue for both countries.
