Sudanese military leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has rejected calls for negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), vowing to regain full control over all territories currently held by the paramilitary group. This declaration comes amid intensifying clashes across Sudan, particularly in West Kordofan and Blue Nile states.
Recent fighting has resulted in the deaths of at least 10 civilians in West Kordofan, while ongoing violence in Blue Nile has forced approximately 5,500 people to flee their homes. The conflict’s expansion highlights the growing humanitarian crisis and instability within the region.
Al-Burhan’s stance signals a continuation of military efforts rather than diplomatic resolution, potentially prolonging the conflict and exacerbating displacement and civilian casualties. The situation remains volatile as both sides vie for control over strategic areas in Sudan.
