Pakistan has successfully conducted a test launch of the extended version of its indigenously developed Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile, the military’s media wing. The missile is equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids, enabling it to engage targets at longer ranges with high precision and lethality.
The test also confirmed the performance of various subsystems designed to improve the missile’s accuracy and survivability. Senior officers from the Pakistan Army, along with scientists and engineers involved in the missile’s development, witnessed the launch.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and other service chiefs praised the successful test. They commended the technical expertise, dedication, and commitment of all personnel who contributed to this significant achievement.
This test follows a successful training fire of the Fatah-4 missile conducted in May. Earlier in the year, the Army Rocket Force Command also carried out a successful training launch of the indigenous Fateh-II missile system. That launch was observed by senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Rocket Force Command, and Pakistan Army, alongside scientists and engineers from strategic organizations.
Additionally, the Pakistan Navy recently completed a successful live firing of the Taimoor air-launched cruise missile, an indigenous anti-ship weapon. The missile demonstrated exceptional precision, validating the Navy’s capability to detect, target, and neutralize enemy sea-based threats at extended ranges.
