Authorities in Lahore have initiated a case concerning the alleged abduction and gang rape of a 20-year-old foreign woman in the Defence locality. The victim, Diana, originally from Azerbaijan, was reportedly taken to a café by two unidentified women shortly after her arrival in the city.
At the café, the two women were accompanied by three male acquaintances. It is alleged that Diana was administered a drug-laced substance before being sexually assaulted by the group. Following the incident, the suspects are said to have abandoned her near the airport and fled the scene. The event is believed to have occurred during the night between Friday and Saturday.
In a significant development, the vehicle allegedly used to abduct Diana was recovered from the residence of a relative of the prime suspect, who remains at large. Law enforcement officials have placed the suspects’ names on the stop list to prevent their escape from the country.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza confirmed that the suspects have been identified and special teams have been formed under the leadership of SP Investigation Cantt Asim Iftikhar to apprehend them. DIG Raza emphasized that all available resources are being deployed to ensure the suspects are brought to justice.
Meanwhile, the victim has undergone a medical examination but is currently unable to provide a statement. Authorities plan to record her testimony once she regains consciousness and is capable of doing so. Concurrently, police are conducting raids in an effort to arrest those involved in the case.
