Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in New York on Monday to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. During his visit, he is expected to engage in the high-level segment and hold discussions with various world leaders and dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also landed in New York on Monday to take part in the UN General Assembly’s high-level week. Dar is set to attend ministerial meetings, deliver Pakistan’s official statements, and conduct bilateral talks with his international counterparts.
The Foreign Office outlined that Dar’s schedule is packed with significant engagements addressing bilateral, regional, and global issues featured on the UN agenda. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Consul General in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai, along with officials from Pakistan’s UN mission and consulate.
In a notable development, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate meetings with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot, European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
