The Ministry of Religious Affairs has responded to grievances regarding certain Hajj companies refusing to book pilgrims even when seats remain available under the private Hajj scheme. Pilgrims facing such issues are encouraged to file formal complaints, including the name of the tour operator, details of the available quota, and any supporting evidence.
Complaints can be submitted via the ‘Inquiry’ feature on the Pak Hajj app or by emailing the Section Officer Monitoring at smonitoring@mora.gov.pk. The ministry has committed to investigating discrepancies between the quotas displayed on the Hajj portal and the information provided by tour operators. All complaints will be incorporated into monitoring reports concerning the relevant Hajj companies.
Notably, the ministry has received reports from pilgrims who were informed by some tour operators that their quotas were fully booked, despite the Hajj portal showing available seats. Protecting pilgrims’ interests and ensuring transparency in bookings under the private Hajj scheme remain top priorities, with the ministry pledging to take action based on documented evidence.
Meanwhile, pilgrims are advised to promptly report any inconsistencies in booking information displayed on the Hajj portal. The booking and payment process for the private Hajj scheme has been digitized through the Pak Hajj app and the digital Hajj portal developed by the National Information Technology Board.
Through this digital platform, pilgrims can explore various Hajj packages from home, select their preferred option, and choose an authorized Hajj company. The ministry has also instructed pilgrims to make payments exclusively via the Pak Hajj app, cautioning against direct payments to individuals or companies.
This digital payment system is designed to enhance transparency in the booking and payment process and safeguard pilgrims from potential fraud. Information about available seats and authorized Hajj companies under the private scheme is accessible on the Hajj portal, ensuring pilgrims have reliable data for their arrangements.
