Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a notable surge on Friday, with the cost of a tola increasing by Rs6,900 to reach Rs460,336. This sharp rise was reported by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, highlighting the fluctuating nature of the domestic bullion market.
Meanwhile, the price for 10 grammes of 24-karat gold also climbed substantially, rising by Rs5,914 to Rs394,663. This increase followed a significant drop the previous day, when gold prices fell by Rs3,800 per tola, settling at Rs453,436. The market’s volatility was further underscored by the fact that the Thursday decline came after a substantial Rs7,900 jump in prices during the session before.
In a significant development, gold prices had also dropped by Rs7,800 over the two sessions leading up to Wednesday’s rally. This pattern of sharp rises and falls illustrates the ongoing instability and unpredictability in Pakistan’s gold market. On Thursday, the price for 10 grammes of 24-karat gold was recorded at Rs388,749, while 10 grammes of 22-karat gold were valued at Rs356,364.
The recent surge means that the price of a tola of gold increased by approximately 1.5 percent compared to Thursday’s figures. This persistent fluctuation in gold prices reflects broader economic factors influencing the precious metals market in Pakistan, affecting investors and consumers alike.
