Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has firmly rejected attempts by Indian pro-government media to associate Pakistan with terrorism, stating he has not received any proof supporting such claims. This statement came during an interview conducted on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit.

When questioned about whether Israel’s actions in Gaza constituted state terrorism, Ibrahim responded affirmatively, labeling it as state terrorism. The interviewer then referenced the Pahalgam attack, which occurred in April 2025, and sought to link Pakistan to the incident. However, Ibrahim clarified that Malaysia’s security agencies had not informed him of any involvement by the Pakistani state in terrorism.

He further emphasized that no evidence had been presented to him regarding the Pahalgam attack, effectively dismissing efforts to connect Pakistan to the tragedy. The attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), resulted in the deaths of 26 people on April 22, 2025.

Following the incident, New Delhi accused Islamabad of orchestrating the assault without providing supporting evidence. Pakistan denied these allegations and called for an impartial investigation into the matter.

In a significant development, India launched an unprovoked attack on Pakistan on May 6-7, 2025. Pakistan responded decisively during the 87-hour conflict, successfully downing eight Indian fighter jets, including French-made Rafale jets, along with numerous drones.
