Iran’s Security Chief Issues Strong Warning Amid US-Israeli Strikes and Calls for Unity

In a stern message delivered on Sunday, Ali Larijani, the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, cautioned against any efforts aimed at fracturing the nation following the recent assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in coordinated strikes carried out by the United States and Israel. Larijani emphasized that attempts to sow discord within Iran would be met with zero tolerance, urging all citizens to stand united in the face of external aggression.

Speaking during a televised interview broadcast on state-run media, Larijani underscored the critical importance of national cohesion during this turbulent period. His remarks come amid heightened tensions and widespread grief across the country, as the loss of the supreme leader has deeply shaken the political and social fabric of Iran. The security chief’s call for solidarity reflects the government’s determination to present a united front against foreign interference and internal destabilization.

Meanwhile, public demonstrations erupted in various cities across Iran, with particularly large crowds gathering in the southern city of Shiraz. Protesters carried images of Ayatollah Khamenei, expressing their grief and demanding retribution for his killing. The demonstrators vocally condemned the United States and Israel, chanting slogans such as “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” signaling a surge of nationalist fervor and anger directed at the perceived perpetrators of the attacks.

Similar scenes of public mourning and calls for vengeance were reported in Tehran, the nation’s capital, as well as in Yazd, a central Iranian city known for its historical significance. These gatherings highlight the widespread impact of the supreme leader’s death on the Iranian populace and the collective demand for a strong response from the country’s armed forces and political leadership.

It is worth noting that the killing of Ayatollah Khamenei marks a significant escalation in the already strained relations between Iran and its adversaries, particularly the United States and Israel. The incident has sparked fears of further instability and potential retaliatory actions, both within the region and beyond. Analysts suggest that the government’s emphasis on unity and resistance is aimed at preventing internal divisions that could be exploited by foreign powers seeking to weaken Iran from within.

As the situation continues to unfold, the international community watches closely, aware that the repercussions of these events may reshape geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East. For now, Iran’s leadership remains resolute in its message: any attempts to divide the nation will be firmly rejected, and the memory of Ayatollah Khamenei will serve as a rallying point for national solidarity and resistance against external threats.
