Einride to Boost Fleet with 500 Tesla Semis, Expects Revenue Surge

Swedish freight technology company Einride AB has announced plans to significantly expand its fleet by adding 500 Tesla Semi trucks, anticipating a more than twofold increase in revenue growth during the second half of 2026. The initial Tesla Semi deployments are scheduled to begin in September, with financing arranged through third-party sources.

This expansion will nearly triple Einride’s active fleet to approximately 750 vehicles. The company aims to reach cash-flow breakeven by 2028, at which point it expects to operate between 1,500 and 2,000 trucks. Einride projects that its constant-currency revenue growth in the latter half of 2026 will more than double compared to the previous year, driven by expanding deployments across both the United States and Europe.

In a significant development, CEO Roozbeh Charli highlighted the importance of hardware availability, stating that with the right hardware now accessible, the focus shifts to the company’s software capabilities for efficiently managing vehicle deployments across its network. Currently, Einride sources trucks from five to six manufacturers, including the Netherlands-based DAF, and Tesla’s addition further diversifies its fleet.

During the first half of 2026, Einride reported a 26 percent year-on-year increase in constant-currency revenue, fueled by higher customer volumes and expanded fleet deployments. However, the company’s net loss widened to 117.56 million, primarily due to one-time expenses related to its Nasdaq listing, recapitalization, and share-based compensation.

Einride went public on Nasdaq in June through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company. Since its debut, the company’s shares had dropped more than 50 percent from the initial price by Monday’s close, before rebounding with a 17 percent surge in premarket trading on Tuesday following the announcement of the Tesla Semi deal and growth forecasts.
