The race unfolded with intense competition, as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished closely behind in second place. Meanwhile, Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli, who has been a standout performer this season, extended his lead in the championship standings to an impressive 50 points by finishing third. McLaren’s hopes for a dominant one-two finish were dashed when Oscar Piastri, Norris’s teammate, was forced to retire due to a mechanical failure just 14 laps before the end of the race at the Hungaroring circuit.
