Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Chairman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has voiced strong criticism against the Afghan Taliban, accusing them of serving as a proxy for India in their hostile actions against Pakistan. He emphasized that these attacks on Pakistan’s border regions are not just isolated incidents but part of a broader strategy to destabilize the country.
Speaking from Karachi, Dr. Maqbool Siddiqui expressed his firm condemnation of the recent cross-border assaults carried out by the Afghan Taliban. He highlighted the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan, underscoring that such aggression threatens the long-standing relationship between the two Muslim nations. He reassured the public that Pakistan’s armed forces, stationed along the borders, possess the capability and determination to respond decisively to any incursions or attacks.
He further stated that the soldiers guarding Pakistan’s frontiers are well-trained and fully equipped to safeguard the country’s territorial integrity. Their vigilance and readiness ensure that any hostile action will be met with a strong and appropriate countermeasure. This message was intended to boost the morale of both the military personnel and the citizens, reinforcing confidence in Pakistan’s defense mechanisms.
In a related development, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhary, the Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, also addressed concerns regarding the security situation along the Afghan border. He pointed out that banned militant outfits continue to operate within Afghanistan, posing a significant threat to Pakistan’s stability. Barrister Chaudhary reiterated Pakistan’s sovereign right to protect itself against any form of aggression or terrorism originating from across the border.
He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from the region and stressed the importance of peace and stability for all neighboring countries. Highlighting Pakistan’s humanitarian role, he reminded that the country has hosted millions of Afghan refugees over the decades, treating them as guests and providing shelter during times of conflict. However, he firmly stated that Pakistan will not tolerate its territory being used as a launching pad for terrorist activities against its own people.
