Pakistan Condemns India’s Terrorism Claims and Israel’s West Bank Land Policy

Pakistan strongly rejected India’s allegations of involvement in terrorism within its borders, accusing New Delhi of orchestrating a sustained campaign of anti-Pakistan propaganda. This denunciation came during a weekly briefing by the Foreign Office spokesperson, who also voiced serious concerns over recent Israeli actions in the West Bank, warning that such moves threaten the fragile peace of the region.

In a detailed briefing, the spokesperson highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent official visit to Doha, which was undertaken at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar. The two leaders agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including strategic discussions on Afghanistan and enhanced defense collaboration. This visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Gulf countries amid regional complexities.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has embarked on a diplomatic mission to Saudi Arabia to represent Pakistan’s stance at an extraordinary session of the Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). During this critical meeting, Pakistan is expected to reiterate its firm condemnation of Israel’s controversial decision to designate parts of the West Bank as state land. The Foreign Office described this unilateral move as a blatant violation of international law and an unacceptable act that undermines prospects for peace in the Middle East.

The spokesperson also marked the somber occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Samjhauta Express attack, a tragic incident that claimed over 70 lives. He criticized the Indian government for what he termed a “callous” attitude, particularly in light of the recent release of four individuals convicted in connection with the attack. Pakistan demanded that all perpetrators be held accountable and brought to justice, emphasizing the need for transparency and fairness in addressing such acts of terrorism.

Turning to the situation in Afghanistan, the spokesperson clarified that Pakistan’s security operations target terrorist elements rather than the Afghan population. He noted that Pakistan has submitted documented evidence of terrorist activities to the United Nations Security Council, underscoring its commitment to combating extremism. While welcoming Qatar’s ongoing mediation efforts aimed at fostering reconciliation between Pakistan and Afghanistan, he expressed regret over hostile rhetoric emanating from Kabul. Pakistan’s military and law enforcement agencies remain vigilant and fully prepared to counter any threats to national security.

Addressing concerns about growing defense ties between India and Israel, the spokesperson reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to confront any challenges to regional stability. He also commented on the protests that erupted in Israel during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, describing them as a hopeful sign that dissenting voices still exist within Israeli society. This observation highlights the complex dynamics at play in international relations involving these countries.
