Pakistan Unveils Updated E-Passport Fee Structure for 2026

Pakistan has introduced a new fee structure for e-passports that will come into effect starting in 2026. This adjustment aims to streamline the passport issuance process while addressing the rising costs associated with modern security features. The updated fees will apply to both new applications and renewals, affecting citizens across the country.

In a significant development, the government’s decision reflects ongoing efforts to enhance travel document security and comply with international standards. E-passports incorporate biometric data, which requires advanced technology and infrastructure, contributing to the need for revised pricing. This move is expected to improve the efficiency and reliability of Pakistan’s passport services.

Meanwhile, the new fee structure may influence the number of passport applications as citizens adjust to the changes. It also underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining secure and internationally recognized travel documents. The update aligns Pakistan with global trends in passport management, ensuring better protection against fraud and identity theft.
