Pakistan secured the bronze medal at the Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2026 by defeating Malaysia 3-0 in a decisive third-place playoff. The match showcased Pakistan’s strong performance, with goals from Uzair Ahmad Qureshi, Asam Haider, and Adeel ensuring a comfortable victory.

Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan reached the bronze medal match after a 5-3 loss to India in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Malaysia faced a heavy 8-1 defeat against Japan in the other semi-final, setting the stage for the third-place contest between Pakistan and Malaysia.

In a significant development, this win allowed Pakistan to conclude the tournament on a positive note, claiming the bronze medal after narrowly missing out on the final. Notably, Pakistan had secured the silver medal in the previous edition of the tournament, where they were defeated 3-0 by Japan in the final.

The Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2026, hosted in Kakamigahara, Japan, commenced on May 29, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude today with the gold medal match between India and Japan. Throughout the competition, Pakistan’s young players demonstrated considerable potential, offering an encouraging outlook for the future of the country’s hockey program.
