Residents across various neighborhoods in Karachi have called for an immediate halt to unannounced load shedding as extended power outages continue to disrupt their daily routines. Several localities have experienced electricity cuts lasting more than 12 hours, significantly impacting the lives of the city’s inhabitants.

Areas such as Orangi Town, Korangi, Lyari, Mauripur, and Lines Area have been severely affected by these prolonged outages. Additionally, residents of Quaidabad, Malir, Manghopir, Keamari, Surjani Town, and New Karachi have reported enduring lengthy power interruptions. Those living in Soldier Bazaar, Hawksbay Road, and Gulshan-e-Maymar have also expressed difficulties due to the ongoing electricity suspensions.

In a significant development, citizens in Malir, Surjani Town, and New Karachi highlighted extended power cuts, prompting protests in several neighborhoods, including Orangi Town. Complaints have also emerged from Baldia Town and other areas, where electricity has reportedly been unavailable for two to three consecutive days. The affected residents have demanded an immediate cessation of unannounced load shedding to alleviate their hardships.

Meanwhile, K-Electric has refuted claims of conducting load shedding exceeding 10 hours. The utility company stated that the power outages were a result of non-payment of electricity bills, denying any intentional prolonged disconnections.
