Over 15,000 Pakistani Pilgrims Arrive in Madinah During Hajj Flights

Pakistan’s Hajj flight operations to Saudi Arabia are proceeding smoothly, with thousands of pilgrims arriving in Madinah during the initial week of the annual pilgrimage, the Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed on Saturday.

In a significant development, 15,026 Pakistani pilgrims have been transported to Madinah through 59 flights within the first seven days of the Hajj operation. Meanwhile, eight additional flights carrying approximately 2,200 pilgrims were scheduled to depart on Saturday, further increasing the number of arrivals in the holy city.

Officials highlighted that staff members from the Ministry of Religious Affairs have also reached Saudi Arabia as part of the Hajj support team. This team is tasked with assisting pilgrims by providing logistical and administrative services throughout their stay.

Notably, 4,611 Pakistani pilgrims have participated in Ziyarat—visits to significant religious sites in Madinah—enhancing their spiritual experience during the pilgrimage.

The ministry’s lost and found unit has been active as well, successfully recovering one missing pilgrim, 14 wheelchairs, and 673 bags, ensuring these items were returned to their rightful owners.

Healthcare support has been a priority, with the Hajj medical mission treating 288 pilgrims at outpatient clinics. Additionally, five pilgrims received dental care, and four underwent ECG examinations to monitor their heart health.

The first group of Pakistani pilgrims who arrived in Madinah is expected to depart for Makkah later on Saturday, marking the transition to the next phase of their pilgrimage journey.
