Security Forces Kill 22 Militants in Khyber Intelligence-Based Raid

Security forces eliminated 22 militants in an intelligence-driven operation conducted in Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as part of an intensified counter-terrorism campaign. The operation took place on April 21 following intelligence reports indicating militant presence in the tribal region.

During the raid, troops and law enforcement agencies engaged in intense gunfire with militants affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), described by the military as “Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khwarij.” The militants reportedly opened indiscriminate fire out of fear of capture, which tragically resulted in the death of a 10-year-old child.

Weapons and ammunition were seized from the militants, who were believed to have been involved in multiple attacks in the area. Security forces have launched a follow-up search operation to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining hostile elements.

In a significant development, the operation underscores the government’s commitment to combating the resurgence of militant violence, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and neighbouring Balochistan. Despite the high number of militant casualties in recent months, attacks on security personnel have increased, prompting authorities to continue intelligence-based operations at full capacity.

Officials have reiterated their resolve to eliminate what they describe as foreign-backed militancy, emphasizing ongoing efforts to restore stability and security in the affected regions.
