Bushra Bibi, spouse of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, underwent eye surgery following complaints of impaired vision in her right eye, as confirmed by the superintendent of Adiala Jail. The jail authorities promptly responded to her condition by arranging a specialist medical examination.
After thorough evaluation, doctors diagnosed her with retinal detachment in the right eye, a serious condition that necessitated immediate surgical intervention. Consequently, she was transferred to a private hospital in Rawalpindi on the evening of April 16 to undergo the procedure.
Before the surgery, all required medical tests and assessments were completed, and Bushra Bibi provided her consent for the operation. The surgery was performed by Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi and his medical team, who successfully completed the procedure.
Following the operation, she was kept under observation at the hospital overnight. Upon discharge in stable condition, Bushra Bibi was returned to Adiala Jail. The jail superintendent noted that post-operative care and follow-up examinations will be conducted medical advice to support her recovery.
