Karachi Board Takes Action Against Fake Social Media Pages via NCCIA

The Karachi Intermediate Board has initiated formal proceedings with the National Counter Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to address the proliferation of fraudulent social media accounts falsely representing the board. These fake pages have been misleading students and the public by disseminating incorrect information, which undermines the board’s reputation and causes confusion among examinees.

In a significant development, the board’s move to involve the NCCIA highlights the growing concern over cybercrimes targeting educational institutions. The misuse of social media platforms to impersonate official entities poses serious risks, including misinformation about exam schedules, results, and admission procedures. This action underscores the importance of safeguarding digital communication channels in the education sector.

Meanwhile, the Karachi Intermediate Board’s efforts to curb these deceptive practices aim to restore trust among students and parents relying on accurate updates. The collaboration with NCCIA is expected to lead to the identification and removal of these fake pages, thereby enhancing the integrity of information dissemination. This step also serves as a precedent for other educational boards facing similar challenges in the digital age.
