In a tragic incident at Hattar Industrial Estate in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eight members of a single family lost their lives following a gas pipeline explosion that sparked a massive fire. The incident occurred on Thursday, causing widespread panic and prompting an immediate emergency response.

Haripur District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur confirmed that the fire broke out after the gas pipeline ruptured within the industrial estate. The explosion led to a fierce blaze that engulfed the area, severely affecting the family residing nearby. Alongside the fatalities, five other family members sustained injuries and were rushed to medical facilities for urgent treatment.

Emergency services responded swiftly, with police, fire brigade units, and rescue teams from five different districts converging on the scene to contain the fire and assist victims. Their coordinated efforts were crucial in preventing further casualties and controlling the spread of the flames. The bodies of five deceased family members were transported to Kot Najibullah hospital, while the remaining three were taken to a trauma center for postmortem procedures.

This devastating event highlights the risks associated with industrial infrastructure and the critical need for stringent safety measures in such areas. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the pipeline failure and to prevent similar tragedies in the future. Meanwhile, the local community mourns the loss of the family members who perished in this unfortunate accident.
