Insider Nintendo is preparing to unveil its inaugural limited-edition Switch 2 console. Historically, Nintendo has produced various special editions, including the Pikachu Nintendo 64, the Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3DS XL, and several Switch 2 models themed on titles such as Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
In a notable development, insider Shpeshal Nick revealed that the first limited-edition Switch 2 might be linked to the anticipated remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Sharing on X/Twitter, he noted, “From what I’ve been told we’re getting a Zelda themed limited edition Switch 2 console. Not sure if the game will be bundled or not.”
This announcement comes shortly after another well-known insider, NateTheHate, claimed Nintendo is working on a remake of Ocarina of Time as well as a new Star Fox title. Shpeshal Nick’s comments sparked discussions on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, where fans expressed excitement and anticipation.
One user commented, “Oh gosh… I bought my Switch 2 at launch just to dodge the price increase. I don’t think I can resist buying this one too…” Another added, “Was waiting for this or a Pokemon themed one to finally get a Switch 2. Hopefully they make a good amount of them cause I imagine there’s plenty of people specifically waiting for a themed console to finally bite.”
Additional reactions included, “This is exciting,” and “Ohh lordy this is gonna do numbers over the holidays.” A further remark was, “Why did I get a Switch 2 too early.”
It is important to note that, as of now, Nintendo has not officially confirmed the release of a limited-edition Zelda Switch 2, the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, or a new Star Fox game.
