Euphoria Season 3 premiered on HBO, delving into the lives of its main characters several years after their high school days, revealing significant transformations within the group. The episode begins with Zendaya’s Rue reflecting on her post-graduation life, admitting, “A lot of people ask what I’ve been up to since high school, and honestly, nothing good.”
The storyline quickly establishes Rue’s new circumstances, depicting her journey through Mexico, crossing into Texas, and finally arriving in California. She discloses that she has become a drug mule for Laurie after incurring a large debt. Rue states, “and that is how I became a drug mule,” as the scenes show her transporting fentanyl across the border.
Upon settling in Los Angeles, Rue adopts a routine that includes driving for ride-share services and reconnecting with Lexi, all while continuing her spiritual growth with her sponsor Ali. Meanwhile, Lexi, now living in Hollywood, is involved in a television production led by industry veteran Patty Lance. Though still an assistant, Lexi’s creative contributions are valued. She remains unaware of Rue’s illegal activities and is encouraged to reconnect with Fez, who is currently serving a long prison sentence.
The narrative also follows Cassie and Nate, who are living in suburban California. Nate manages his father’s construction company and is planning a major retirement development. Cassie supports their upcoming wedding by creating online content, which causes tension between them over personal boundaries and expectations. Maddy is working in talent management in Hollywood, while Jules is absent from this episode, with only brief mentions of her current situation.
The premiere concludes with Rue attending a party during a drug delivery, where a near-fatal overdose heightens the tension and highlights the dangers of her new lifestyle. The next episode, Season 3, Episode 2, is scheduled to air on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT on HBO and Max.
