In a significant diplomatic exchange on Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s pivotal role in facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and the United States. The conversation took place during a telephone call with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting Islamabad’s growing influence in regional peace efforts.

President Macron congratulated Prime Minister Sharif on Pakistan’s successful mediation, which he credited with bringing the two adversaries to the negotiating table. He also extended his best wishes for the forthcoming peace talks scheduled to be held in Islamabad, underscoring the importance of continued dialogue in resolving longstanding tensions.

Prime Minister Sharif reciprocated by thanking the French leader for his support of Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to fostering peace and stability not only between Iran and the United States but throughout the broader region. This dialogue reflects Islamabad’s strategic role as a mediator in complex international conflicts.

Moreover, both leaders expressed deep concern over the persistent violence in Lebanon, emphasizing the urgent necessity to halt hostilities and restore peace across the Middle East. They agreed to maintain close communication to support ongoing efforts aimed at regional stability and conflict resolution.
