The 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference convened on Tuesday under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ at the General Headquarters. The meeting thoroughly assessed the current internal and external security challenges facing Pakistan.
In a decisive stance, the commanders pledged to persistently target and eliminate all terrorist proxies operating within Pakistan, who are allegedly supported by India and other foreign sponsors, along with their facilitators and supporters. The conference reaffirmed its commitment to sustain the momentum of Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq until terrorist sanctuaries are completely dismantled and the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan is decisively halted.
Meanwhile, the forum acknowledged the government’s vigorous efforts to bring an end to the conflict in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of restraint, dialogue, and de-escalation. It reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to principled diplomacy and constructive engagement in the region.
Notably, the commanders highlighted Pakistan’s role as a responsible regional actor, actively contributing to peace and stability as a Regional Security Stabiliser. They expressed strong condemnation of recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial facilities, describing these acts as unnecessary escalations that undermine sincere peace efforts.
The forum observed that Saudi Arabia’s measured response despite serious provocations had allowed for mediation and diplomatic solutions. However, such aggressive actions threaten to derail ongoing peaceful initiatives and the conducive environment for resolution.
In a significant development, the conference firmly rejected ongoing disinformation campaigns, baseless accusations, and false flag operations attributed to India, noting that these tactics have been discredited on the international stage. The commanders also voiced concern over continued human rights abuses by Indian authorities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly condemning recent fake encounters used to mask extrajudicial killings.
The forum paid tribute to the martyrs from the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and innocent civilians who sacrificed their lives defending the nation. It reaffirmed that their sacrifices form the foundation of Pakistan’s national security.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir expressed satisfaction with the Pakistan Armed Forces’ professionalism, operational excellence, and unwavering dedication to the country’s defense and ongoing intelligence-driven counter-terrorism efforts.
