ISLAMABAD: Federal ministers have reassured leaders of the government’s coalition partners that petrol prices will be lowered as soon as the disruptions caused by the Iran war subside and conditions return to normal.

A significant gathering of allied party leaders took place today at Parliament House, with representatives from the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Pakistan Peoples Party, MQM, and other coalition members in attendance. Prominent figures such as Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ahsan Iqbal, Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also participated in the discussions.

During the session, officials from the Finance Ministry and Petroleum Division delivered an extensive briefing on the current economic landscape and energy sector status. The presentation covered global oil price trends, domestic energy reserves, and the government’s efforts to stabilise the economy amid ongoing challenges.

Following the meeting, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry informed the press that the allied party leaders expressed strong confidence in the federal government’s strategies. The discussion also focused on petrol pricing policies aimed at mitigating inflationary pressures on the public.

Officials emphasized that petrol prices will be promptly reduced once the global and regional situations improve, ensuring relief for citizens affected by the current economic strain.
